Oakley Shoe One Yellow (1998) Size 44,5

The Oakley Shoe One was, at the time, one of the most ambitious engineering and design projects by Oakley. Founder Jim Jannard described it as “one of the most interesting things we ever did at Oakley,” although it did not achieve the commercial success it deserved. The design team, led by Peter Yee (@peteryeedesign), was tasked with creating a groundbreaking model that would stand out in the competitive footwear market. The Shoe One featured more innovations and unique elements than any shoe ever created.

It was crafted with a Kevlar weave upper and a Kevlar-impregnated, three-point contact carbon fiber outsole. Metal eyelets for the laces and a shoe’s outsole design that resembles the tread pattern of a superbike tire.

Jim Jannard also remarked that no Oakley collection is complete without a NIB (New In Box) Shoe One: “If you consider yourself an Oakley collector and don’t have a NIB Shoe One, I simply won’t believe you.”
